Ranchi, November 19: The stage is set for the second and final phase of voting in Jharkhand, with 38 of the state’s 81 assembly seats going to polls on Wednesday. A total of 528 candidates are in the fray, including Chief Minister Hemant Soren, his wife Kalpana Soren, both contesting on JMM tickets, and Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri from the BJP.
The elections have seen an intense contest between the ruling JMM-led INDIA bloc and the BJP-led NDA. The first phase of polling took place on November 13.
Polling will commence at 7 AM across 14,218 booths and continue till 5 PM, except for 31 sensitive booths where voting will conclude at 4 PM.
