Puri, Nov 15: In a move set to revolutionize religious tourism and long-distance travel, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced the launch of a daily luxury bus service connecting Bengaluru to Puri. The new service, covering a distance of approximately 1,500 kilometers, will provide a comfortable, direct route for pilgrims and tourists traveling to the renowned Jagannatha Dham.
The journey, which will take about 18 hours, is one of India’s longest daily bus routes, offering a unique travel option for those seeking to visit one of the country's most significant religious sites. The luxury buses will be equipped with modern amenities, including plush seating, air conditioning, onboard refreshments, and entertainment, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride for all passengers.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance religious tourism and improve inter-state connectivity. It complements the efforts of the Odisha government, which recently introduced luxury Char Dham bus services to facilitate travel to key pilgrimage sites in the region. Together, these services represent a concerted push to cater to the growing demand for quality transportation to major religious destinations across India.
KSRTC’s new route marks a significant step in making long-distance travel more convenient for pilgrims, enhancing the travel experience while promoting cultural and religious tourism between Karnataka and Odisha. The service is expected to attract a large number of devotees visiting Puri, offering them a hassle-free journey to one of the most sacred temples in India
