Prayagraj, Jan 15: The Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh is the congregation of millions of sadhus and saints. Among the many saints and sages -a former aerospace engineer from IIT Bombay, now known as ‘IIT Baba traded his scientific pursuits for a spiritual awakening.
The person has been identified as Abhey Singh, a native of Haryana shared his unconventional journey, saying he left the path of science for spirituality.
He secured a job offer through campus placements. He worked briefly with the corporate before realizing that his true love calling is neither than devotion.
Singh identifies as a devotee of Lord Shiva said that now he was enjoying spirituality. He understands spirituality through science. He was going into its depths. Everything is Shiva. Truth is Shiva, and Shiva is beautiful.
His presence at the Maha Kumbh has sparked curiosity as he can converse in fluent English and an interesting mix of scientific knowledge and spiritual wisdom with journalists.
During an interview, he informed the interviewer, “You look for the meaning of life. Even while I was studying engineering, I took philosophy courses - Post Modernism, Socrates, Plato - to understand what is the meaning of life”
A user posted on X, “Till date, whichever Baba I have seen, all of them seemed like frauds to me. For the first time I saw an IIT Bombay passed Baba who has the treasure of both knowledge and spirituality.”
