Bhubaneswar: Inaugurating the first Make in Odisha conclave of the State BJP government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lays out the ‘Utkarsh Odisha’ plan in detail.
For the top business honchos and investors, who have joined the Odisha investment summit, the PM has rolled out his popular “Modi guarantee”.
The PM said, “I assure all business leaders and investors participating in the summit that your investment in businesses in Odisha will reward you by taking your businesses to new heights of success. And this is “Modi Ki Guarantee.”
MODI’s ‘UTKARSH ODISHA’ PLAN
Making his inaugural address at the business summit, the Prime Minister shared his vision plan of making Odisha attain ‘Utkarsh’ (Rise) on the global and national economy map
The PM has listed out the following historical strengths of the State in business economy of country.
“Odisha had been a major trade centre for Southeast Asia centuries ago. The ports in the State were the gateways of India to Southeast Asia and ASEAN nations,” the PM recalled.
Recollecting the famous “I have an Indian DNA..” quote of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the dinner meet of President Droupadi Murmu, PM Modi revealed that the Indonesian President had said, “I have an Odisha DNA..”
The PM then laid emphasis on the legacy that Odisha is thriving with, the legacy that binds Southeast Asia, and added that it is the HIGH TIME to regain that hoary past.
By speaking about Odisha’s past trade and maritime history, the PM has in CAPITAL LETTERS highlighted the potential Odisha has in the burgeoning Services sector – trade that will give a boost to the finance and business services in the State, which have a high potential in boosting the State’s GDP and roll out vast job opportunities to employable youths in Odisha.
Services sector has been the largest recipient of FDI in the country.
ODISHA GATEWAY TO SE ASIA, ASEAN
The PM shedding light on the roadmap to pep up Odisha’s services sector has said big.
“Singapore President has recently visited to Odisha. President T Shanmugaratnam had a very encouraging perception on Odisha. The ASEAN nations have also evinced interest in having trade and investment relationship with the State,” the PM revealed.
PM Modi said Odisha is now in the cusp of availing the most business opportunities and possibilities.
In his address at the Summit, by emphasising on ASEAN countries, PM Modi is signalling the high business opportunities the ASEAN economy engine is holding out to Odisha.
The focus countries of Singapore, Malaysia and Australia in the Make in Odisha conclave show the stamp of PM Modi, especially when the PM here called upon the State to explore the ASEAN economy and business relation opportunties.
ODISHA TOPS IN AI
After laying out the roadmap for “Utkarsh Odisha”, the PM then shifted his emphasis on the inherent strength of Odisha that has the potential to achieve the visioned roadmap laid out by him
The PM said, “This is an era of AI – Artificial Intelligence. But AI for India has been Aspirations of India, which has been the greatest strength of the country.”
PM Modi said, “Aspiration grows when it fulfils people’s needs. We are now realising the gains of empowering the people of India in the last 10-years.”
The PM then said, Odisha represent this AI – Aspirational India.

Addressing the over 17.5k investors, including top business czars, from nation and globe, the PM, as business ambassador of Odisha, redefined the ‘O’ of Odisha.

Taking a jibe at the past governments’ economic policy of recycling trade – whereby raw materials from Odisha/India, like minerals and seafoods, exported from the State, only to go for value addition or processing and recycled back to Odisha, PM said, “Modi ko manjoor nahin yeh trend...”
The PM then declared – value addition industries for resources of Odisha will set up their plants in the State.

PM Modi said, “The pace with which the country has been bringing up the specialised infrastructure in the last 10-years had made India the best destination for investment globally. The country has brought up infra to connect the dedicated freight corridors to east and west coastal states, landlocked states accessibility to sea ensured. Country is witnessing shaping up of dozens of industrial towns with plug and play facilities.
PM Modi then said Odisha also needs a boost in the multi modal transport sector and the government is laying top emphasis on this.
“The Centre has launched thousand crores of projects for Railways and highways,” the PM added.

Addressing the biggest demand of industries, the PM said Odisha govt is working on plans to bring down the logistic cost of industries in the State.
The State govt is connecting the ports to the industrial clusters, the PM declared. The State govt is not only ensuring expansion of existing ports in the State but also developing new ones.
For which, the State is going to become a leading state of country in the Blue Economy.
