Sambalpur, February 6:A senior professor of the Sambalpur University has been suspended for his alleged involvement in manipulation of NAAC rating.
Follwing the arrest of the faculty member by the CBI, authorities of the varsity on Wednesday put Dr Bulu Maharana, a professor in the Library Science department under suspension.
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) scandal that rooted from an Andhra Pradesh-based private deemed university, Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation (KLEF). It was found paying bribes to the NAAC assessment teams to secure an A++ accreditation wherein Dr. Maharana was an active member.
As the scam was busted by the CBI, Dr Bulu Maharana and nine other NAAC inspection Team members were arrested after the CBI registered a case against KLEF office bearers and NAAC team members.
