Cuttack, February 6: The annual Matriculation examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha is going to begin on February 21 and to conclude on March 6.
Aiming at zero tolerance to leak out of question papers and illegal practices, the Board of Secondary Education Odisha, is all set to brace up for fair exam sessions.
To ensuring smooth exams process, the BSE adopts several strategies to guard against question paper leaks.
Each examination paper will bear a unique serial number, which will enable authorities to trace its origin in case of any illegal manipulation and propagation.
In an effort to maintain the integrity of the exams, CCTV surveillance has been ensured across all 3,133 exam centres distributed over the 30 districts.
Additionally, 314 nodal centres have been established to oversee the holistic approaches during the entire exam process.
As many as 600 exam centres will benefit from improved lighting arrangements to ensure transparency and vigilance.
In a first the Board has implemented a new digital locking system to enhance the security of question papers during transportation.
The digital locks can be operated in three ways: centrally from the BSE office, through passwords, or via chips with special messengers at designated centers. Any unauthorized tampering will trigger immediate alerts at the BSE control room through an integrated alarm system.
This system includes password-protected digital locks and GPS tracking that will be opened in time in presence of Board representative, Centre Superintendent, Nodal officer and district admin officials.
Similarly advanced security features on Exam Papers have been adopted this time. This time, each question paper will feature unique identifiers such as watermarks, barcodes, and encrypted security numbers. These features are designed to make it easier to track and detect any unauthorized handling of the papers.
If anyone attempts to photograph or scan the question papers, a self-display watermark will appear, allowing immediate detection at the BSE office.
The board has also implemented a question paper numbering system, which will help trace the origin of any leaked papers.
These measures are being implemented in response to several paper leak incidents that occurred in the state during 2024.
With these comprehensive measures, the Odisha Board is displaying a strong commitment to safeguarding this crucial component of the examination process.
As per the details of Exam Schedule, annual matriculation Exams 2025 will be conducted daily from 9:00 am to 11:30 am during Feb 21-March 6 with one sitting and a single question paper for both regular and ex-regular students.
