Bhubaneswar, January 21: Odisha’s former Health Minister Naba Das was threatened before his assassination, said Congress MLA & one of Das’ close- associates Santosh Singh Saluja on Tuesday.
Ruling out all the assumptions and theories relating to Naba Das’ murder case, Kantabanj MLA Saluja made a significant revelation regarding the high-profile murder case involving a powerful minister as the deceased whereas a police ASI was found as the accused.
The veteran Congress leader of Western Odisha informed before media that Naba Das was under a pressure as he was warned by someone to stay away from coal transportation bid from the Jharsuguda coal block.
“Once I was sitting with the then Health Minister Naba Das when he told me that he was undergoing pressure regarding coal business.
On being asked about the miscreant, Das told that he is warned of terrible consequences by some influential people asking him to step back from the coal transportation from the Jharsuguda coal block.
After a few days to the conversation, Naba Das was brutally killed by an unidentified assassinator, Saluja added.
Joining voice in favor of a CBI probe into the Naba Das’ murder case, Saluja said that an impartial probe agency should work out on the alleged conspiracy whereas the sleuths should shed light on Das’ business rivalry relating to coal transport that is yet to be unearthed.
“We are yet demanding a CBI probe to expose the miscreants who had really hatched the conspiracy”, Saluja added.
