Bhubaneswar, May 15: Amplifying the momentum for the upcoming general and assembly elections, Naveen Patnaik, the President of the BJD and the Chief Minister, took center stage today, addressing a series of rallies and launching a fervent critique against opposition parties.

Commencing his campaign in the vibrant locale of Rourkela in the Sundargarh district, the BJD stalwart intensified his onslaught against opposing factions, particularly targeting the BJP, alleging deceit in their communication with the populace.

Pointing fingers at the opposition's purportedly insincere concern for the people of Odisha, the Chief Minister urged the electorate to place their trust in the BJD, emphasizing the absence of reliance on opposing narratives. "The opposition is weaving fabrications and offering hollow sympathies," he asserted, laying blame on the BJP-led Central government for disregarding the needs of Odisha and its inhabitants.

Citing the BJP's pre-election pledges to the people of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik accused the ruling party of a decade-long tenure at the Center of failing to fulfill these commitments, alleging a lack of tangible progress for the state's advancement.

Reaffirming the BJD's commitment to providing free electricity up to 100 units, the Chief Minister assured the public that under the party's governance, they would be exempt from electricity bills starting July of this year. "Consider this Naveen Patnaik's assurance on electricity," he declared, urging unwavering support for the party's candidates.

Enumerating the array of developmental and welfare initiatives undertaken by the BJD government, the CM solicited public feedback on schemes such as Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), Mission Shakti, Mamata Yojana, Location Accessible Multi-model Initiative (LAccMI), and the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme for farmers, seeking validation of their efficacy.

Concluding the BJD's campaign in Rourkela, the Chief Minister traversed through three Assembly segments under the Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency, rallying support for the regional party's candidates in Athamallik, Chhendipada, and Deogarh.
