Bhubaneswar, April 15: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari’s Odisha visit is scheduled on April 17.
Gadkari is likely to announce some key NH projects worth over Rs 5000 crore for the state, informed, Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Tuesday.
Underlining Gadkari’s official programs, Harichandan said that the Union Minister during his Odisha visit, will conduct a comprehensive review of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) projects currently underway across the state.The review meeting is expected to focus on timelines, budget utilization, bottlenecks, and strategies to expedite the pace of construction.
Later in the day, Gadkari will address the public where he is expected to make major announcements regarding new highway projects and road infrastructure initiatives for the state.
According to reports, the Union Minister will unveil plans aimed at improving connectivity in both rural and urban regions.
The highlight of his visit will be the inauguration and foundation stone laying of 16 key highway projects, collectively worth over Rs 5,000 crore. These projects are aimed at enhancing the state’s road network, promoting smoother logistics.
Gadkari will attend an event in Cuttack at Ravenshaw University Campus where he will grace the Harekrushna Mahatab Jayanti Utsav. Later, at a public platform, he is scheduled to lay the foundation and inaugurate projects worth nearly Rs 5,000 crore, said sources.
