Jajpur, Nov 21: Ten persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the attack on independent MLA from Dharmasala in Jajpur district of Odisha, police said on Thursday.
Ten persons have been arrested in connection with MLA Himanshu Sekhar Sahoo and they will be forwarded to court after medical examination, said Jajpur police.
MLA Himanshu Sekhar Sahoo had filed a police complaint on Wednesday alleging that miscreants attacked him last evening.
In his complaint, Sahoo alleged that the attack took place near Budha river bridge.
"I was going to Jajpur Town to attend an urgent official meeting at the DM office this evening. My vehicle got stranded on the road near Budha river bridge due to a road blockade by locals. As I was waiting, some unidentified miscreants vandalized my vehicle and attacked me,” said the MLA in his complaint.
"They also attacked my personal security officer and snatched my gold chain from my neck, he added.
