Bhubaneswar, February 10: A bus accident in the Bolgarh area of Khordha district left 12 passengers injured on Monday. The incident occurred when a private bus veered off the road.
The bus, which was traveling from Bhubaneswar to Nayagarh, lost control and skidded off the road, eventually hitting a tree and crashing into a taxi stand. The exact cause of the accident remains unclear.
It is said that it may have been due to driver error or an attempt to avoid colliding with another vehicle on the road.
There were approximately 50 passengers onboard at the time of the accident. A large-scale rescue operation was quickly launched, and the injured passengers were attended to. Of the 15 injured, three are reported to be in critical condition.
