Bhubaneswar, February 9: The Odisha government has introduced two key amendments in Renewable Energy Policy 2022.
To minimize loads on hydro and thermal power resources and to promote renewable energy in the state, the Odisha Cabinet on Friday approved the essential amendment in the Odisha Renewable Energy Policy laid down in 2022.
As per the amendments, renewable energy projects will be exempted from 50 per cent of wheeling charges which was 25 per cent earlier.
Similarly, the installation of wind farms was prohibited within 1 km of residential areas with 10 or more houses. However, this rule has been relaxed and amended by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India recently.
It will encourage countless people for seamless installation of wind farms across the state.
