Bhubaneswar, October 22: Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja chaired a high-level meeting on Tuesday to assess the state government's preparedness for the impending Cyclone Dana.
The meeting focused on maintaining essential services, including electricity, drinking water, and healthcare, during potential cyclone-induced disruptions.
Special emphasis was given to ensuring the operational readiness of DG/generator sets in hospitals and critical areas to keep services functional during power outages. Departments like Energy and Panchayati Raj were directed to coordinate and supply water, particularly via tankers, in case of disruptions.
Pre-emptive measures include filling water tanks by October 23 and conducting trial runs of generator sets with adequate diesel supplies.
The meeting was attended by top officials, including Satyabrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department; Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, Special Relief Commissioner; and other key departmental heads.
