Bhubaneswar, Oct 22: Odisha government has deputed five senior IAS officers in five coastal and northern districts for overall supervision of rescue and relief operations on account of the impending cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal.
K Sudarshan Chakravarthy has been deputed to Balasore, while Trilochan Majhi has been deputed to Bhadrak and Balwant Singh to Puri.
Vineet Bhardwaj will oversee rescue and relief works in Mayurbhanj, Yamini Sarangi in Jagatsinghpur and Samarth Verma in Kendrapara.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), cyclone Dana would cross the north Odisha and West Bengal coasts between Puri and Sagar Island during the night of October 24 and early morning of October 25.
