Bhubaneswar, October 22: With Cyclone Dana looming, the Odisha government has ramped up preparations, establishing 250 relief centers and 500 temporary shelters to evacuate residents from vulnerable coastal areas.

Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari has assured the public that these shelters are well-stocked with adequate food, water, and medical supplies.

The administration has transformed schools and colleges into temporary shelters, and officials have already inspected 250 of these relief camps.

Minister Pujari stated that all shelters are equipped with electricity and necessary provisions to ensure the comfort of evacuees.

To further safeguard citizens, women officers have been deployed to assist female residents, while local police will be stationed at shelters to maintain security.

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams are on standby in various districts, ready for rescue and rehabilitation efforts.
