Bhubaneswar,March 16: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday mourned the demise of Padma Bhusan, former Odisha Chief Secretary and renowned Odia Poet Ramakanta Rath.
Majhi expressed his grief through an official communiqué following the death of the prominent Odia figure.
In the message, Majhi said, Padma Bhushan Ramakanta Rath was one of the renowned poets in Indian literature.
“Many of his timeless poems, such as Sri Radha, Saptama Ritu, Kete Dinara, Sachitra Andhara, Sandigdha Mrigaya, and many others, will immortalize him forever in the world of literature,” said Majhi.
Majhi also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and wished eternal peace for departed soul.
Similarly, Deputy CM KV Singh Deo expressed his condolence for Rath’s family on the demise of the great Odia poet.
In his message on X, Singh Deo wroete, “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former civil servant, Padma Bhushan awardee, and literary figure Ramakanta Rath. He will forever be remembered for his contributions to Indian civil services and Odia literature. May his last rites be performed with national dignity. I pray to Lord Shree Jagannath for the eternal peace of the departed soul and convey my condolences to his bereaved family.”
