Bhubaneswar, Nov 22:Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday visited the India International Trade Fair organized at the ‘Bharat Mandapam’ in New Delhi.
During his go round the stalls Majhi appreciated the ‘Odisha Mandap’ that showcases Odyssey crafts in it.
Speaking at the ‘Odisha State Day Celebrations’ at the 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) at the Bharat Mandapam today as the chief guest, the CM said participation in the grand fair will be immensely helpful in promoting the rich art, culture and traditions of Odisha.
“The unique handicrafts and handlooms of Odisha have gained international fame. People from across the country are getting an opportunity to know about our art and craft,” Majhi said.
Going around the fair, the Chief Minister visited various stalls displaying handicrafts and handicrafts of Mission Shakti women, tribal culture and artifacts and various rural products. Meanwhile, he appreciated the ‘Odisha Mandap’ designed on the theme ‘Developed India, Developed Odisha’.
The ‘Odisha State Day Celebration’ was celebrated at Amphitheater-1 of the India International Trade Fair where Odyssey dance, dance drama and Sambalpuri folk dances among others, were performed.
Special editions of the monthly magazines ‘Utkal Lusaka’ and ‘Odisha Review’ published by the state government were also unwrapped on the occasion.
