Bhadrak, Dec 22: Former Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) of Jajpur Raghunath Padhi was left battling for life after some miscreants allegedly stabbed him.
As per reports, the assailants barged into his house in Charigharia area under Bhadrak Town police limits this morning with an intention of loot and stabbed him with a knife before fleeing the spot.
Padhi sustained critical injuries in the attack.
He was rushed to the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for medical treatment. Later, he was shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his health condition showed signs of deterioration.
A complaint in this regard has been lodged with the local police.
Based on the complaint, police have started investigation into the matter.
Efforts are on to identify and nab the attackers, said the police.
