Bhubaneswar, January 17: Odisha government on Friday announced a hike in the honorarium of Junior Teachers (Schematic) working under the aegis of the Samagra Sikshya Abhiyan(SSA).
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, in a bid to boost the standard of primary education, has approved the revised salary of the JTs.
As per the announcements, the JTs will now receive a monthly salary of Rs 16,000 which was Rs 11,100 since the appointment.
Apart from the monthly honorarium , the state government has hiked the EPF contribution of the Junior teachers to Rs 1950, which was Rs 1443 per month earlier.
With the recent increment of JT’s salary the government will incur an additional expenditure of Rs 89.15 crore from the state exchequer, assessed the government.
This pay hike is set to benefit approximately 13,740 teachers across the region.
