Bhubaneswar, April 8 :The Odisha government is set to kick off the development of a grand “Shakti Corridor” aimed at connecting the State’s prominent Shakti Peeths. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida informed on Tuesday following her visit to the revered Maa Tara Tarini temple in Ganjam district.
The ambitious corridor will link iconic temples including Maa Tara Tarini, Maa Biraja, Maa Ugratara, Maa Bhagabati, Maa Mangala, Maa Kalijai, and Maa Bhairavi. The initiative seeks to promote spiritual tourism, preserve Odisha’s rich cultural legacy, and offer pilgrims a unified and well-facilitated journey across these sacred sites.
Highlighting the project's modern vision, Deputy CM Parida said that plans are in place to introduce helicopter services to improve accessibility and connectivity for devotees traveling from various parts of the country.
“The Shakti Corridor will not only ease pilgrimages but also showcase the spiritual and cultural wealth of Odisha,” she said.
Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, who accompanied Parida during the temple visit, stated that the project is expected to be completed within two years. Once operational, the corridor will serve thousands of devotees annually, strengthening Odisha’s position on the national pilgrimage map.
