Odisha govt to take action against 196 absentee doctors

Bhubaneswar, Dec 2: Odisha Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling on Monday said the state government has decided to initiate action against 196 doctors, who have been absent from duty for a long time.

Replying to a question of BJP MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, Mahaling told the state assembly that 196 doctors from various cadres including Odisha Medical Health Service (OMHS), Odisha Medical Education Service (OMES), and Odisha Homeopathic Medical Service (OHMS), are on leave for a prolonged period.

He said the state government is taking steps to take appropriate action against the doctors as per government regulations.
