Bhubaneswar, February 17: Odisha lacks at least 66 IAS Officers and 69 IPS Officers as against the sanctioned strength that creates prime hindrance in delivering public services in the state.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed it on Monday in the Odisha Assembly.
Responding to BJD MLA Arun Sahoo during the Budget Session in the House today the CM said, Odisha is currently facing severe shortfall of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) Officers,that remains essential for addressing public services.
The CM said, out of the sanctioned 248 IAS positions, only 182 officers are now in service. As many as 22 IAS officers are on central deputation.
Similarly, 69 IPS positions are yet to be fulfilled out of 195 sanctioned posts. 10 IPS officers are on central deputation for more than five years, the CM added.
