Baripada, Mar 27: In a horrific incident reported from Baripada town of Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped for six months by her uncle and impregnated.
The accused has been identified as Ganesh Mahakud, a resident of Jamda block.
As per reports, the whole matter came to light on Wednesday after the minor girl, a Class 10 student, found out that she was pregnant and reached out to the police seeking justice.
According to the complaint, she used to work at the tiffin stall of the accused. He had allegedly clicked videos and pictures of her while she was bathing. Later, he started blackmailing her with her nude pictures and videos and started raping her.
The victim alleged that he has been her for the last six months since October. However, she had not disclosed the matter before anyone as she was threatened to keep her mouth shut.
She reached out the police after she found out that she was two-three months pregnant and lodged a complaint. Acting on the complaint, the cops arrested the accused.
A case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) has been registered and the accused is being interrogated, said the police.
