Jeypore Nov 6: Police busted the mystery behind murder of one Sabitri (21) by unidentified miscreants near Khudubi Chhak in Koraput district on Tuesday.

Police arrested husband of the deceased Mahendra Khora (24) for hatching an elaborate conspiracy to kill his wife Sabitri with the help of his two relatives Mahesh Mali and Somanath Mali.

Mahendra had scripted a story of dacoity and murder of her wife by unidentified miscreants tying him to a tree when the couple was returning home on Monday evening.

Mahendra’s father Purba filed a complaint at Nandapur police station on Tuesday morning that a few miscreants attacked his son and daughter-in-law. They tied Mahendra to a tree and robbed Sabitri of her ornaments before killing her and dumping the body near a bush.

Being informed, police reached the spot and shifted Mahendra to the Nandapur Community Health Centre for medical treatment.

However, police investigation revealed that Mahendra had hatched the conspiracy to eliminate Sabitri over a domestic dispute. Mahendra confessed to the crime during questioning.

“During probe we found Mahendra had planned to kill Sabitri along with his two relatives over a domestic dispute,” said Sunabeda SDPO Manabrata Satapathy.
