Bhubaneswar, February 9: Odisha's Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister, Krushna Chandra Patra, announced on Sunday that the deadline for ration card holders to complete the e-KYC process is set for February 15, 2025, and there will be no further extensions.
Speaking to the media here, Patra stated that more than 37 million beneficiaries under the state's food security programs have yet to complete their e-KYC verification. He urged those affected to complete the process within the given timeframe, warning that any unfinished applications would result in the cancellation of the corresponding ration cards after the deadline.
Patra also informed that, during the verification process, it was discovered that around 800,000 beneficiaries had fraudulently obtained their ration cards, all of whom belong to taxable income groups.
Additionally, approximately 600,000 people have applied for new ration cards, while 12,000 individuals, employed or in taxable groups, have voluntarily surrendered their cards.
