Odisha swimmers bag gold in the National Games

Bhubaneswar: Odisha women swimmers bagged the first gold medal for the State in the 38th National Games 2025 at Haldwani , Uttarakhand on Thursday.

The Odisha women 4X100 Midley Relay team bagged the gold medal with a timing of 4.30.09. While Pratyasa Ray and Mannata Mishra in (breast stroke), Shrishti Upadhyay (butterfly) and Divyanka Dibyajyoti Pradhan in (freestyle) to clinch the gold.

Divyanka Dibyajyoti Pradhan grabbed an individual bronze medal in the women's 200m breaststroke event by clocking 2;45.56.

The Maharashtra and Karnataka teams won the silver and bronze medals clocking 4:31.29 and 4:31.62 respectively.  Earlier on Wednesday, Shrishti Upadhyay won a bronze medal in her individual event. 

So far Odisha won three medals including a gold and two bronze medals in the ongoing National Games.   

Odisha’s both women and men rugby teams barged into the semifinals by defeating Tamil Nadu and host Uttarakhand by 56-0 and 36-0 respectively in the quarterfinal match at Dehradun on Thursday. Both the Odisha teams will face Maharashtra teams in the semifinals.
