Bhubaneswar, January 8: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has on Wednesday claimed that Odisha’s ambitious goal to become one of the top five state economies in India by 2047, coincides with the nation’s centenary of independence.

As part of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention, addressing a joint business session of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Odisha, CM Majhi emphasized India’s impressive economic progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He pointed out that India has now emerged as the world's fifth-largest economy and is currently the fastest-growing major economy globally.

“Odisha aims to be an integral part of this growth trajectory. While we are currently the 13th largest state economy in the country with an economy valued at around 100 billion USD, our vision is to propel ourselves into the top five economies in India by 2047,” CM Majhi stated.
