Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Tennis Association (OTA) proudly announces that the WTT J30 Bhubaneswar, hosted on the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors, has been awarded the prestigious Tournament Recognition Award by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
This accolade highlights OTA’s unwavering commitment to delivering an exceptional tournament experience and acknowledges the tremendous efforts of the organisers, officials, and volunteers involved.
The ITF’s Tournament Recognition Programme, now in its second year, was established to reward tournaments that exceed ITF standards for quality and organization. The 2024 edition of WTT J30 Bhubaneswar was highly praised by players and successfully met all of ITF’s administrative and operational requirements.
As a part of this recognition, the upcoming edition will proudly display a ‘Recognition Star’ on the ITF website calendar and tournament homepage, with WTT J30 Bhubaneswar listed on the ITF Roll of Honour as one of the year’s standout events.
The Odisha Tennis Association President Asit Tripathy, expressed his pride in this achievement, saying, “The ITF award is a proud moment for Odisha and a recognition of the hard work we have put into building a tournament that matches the highest global standards. Our vision is to elevate tennis in Odisha, and this acknowledgment motivates us to keep working with dedication to promote the sport.”
OTA Secretary Dr. Satyajit Mohanty, echoed these sentiments, adding, “This award is a testament to our collaborative efforts to enhance the tennis experience in Odisha. The response from players has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are committed to building on this momentum. We look forward to welcoming players and supporters to future editions and setting even higher benchmarks.”
OTA Joint Secretary and Tournament Director Sanjeeb Panda of WTT J30 Bhubaneswar, also shared his gratitude, stating, “We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition. It reflects our commitment to player experience, and we are thankful for the hard work of our organising team.”
The Odisha Tennis Association remains grateful for the unconditional support of Sports Department, Government of Odisha and this award is not possible without the support of the Sports Department. However, OTA is dedicated to fostering the growth of tennis in Odisha and is eager to host more memorable tournaments in the years to come.
