Bhubaneswar, March 30: In a tragic incident today, the Bangalore-Kamakhya AC Superfast Express derailed near Nergundi Station, resulting in death of one passenger and leaving three others injured.
The accident occurred early this morning, and immediate rescue operations were launched by local authorities.
Casualties and Injuries:
Suvankar Roy, Male, 22 years, tragically lost his life in the incident. One female passenger suffered grievous injury and two other male passengers are being treated for simple injury.
Ex-gratia of amount ₹5,00,000/- has been announced to the next to the kins of the deceased. Similarly, ₹2,50,000/- for grievous and ₹50,000/- for simple injuries.
Immediate medical assistance have been provided to the injured passengers, and the necessary compensation has been paid to the victims' families.

Mail Express Trains are running in the Howrah-Visakhapatnam UP Line. Down Line trains are diverted via Barang-Naraj-Kapilas Road instead of the usual Barang-Cuttack-Nergundi route:

Ongoing Investigation:
Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) will hold the detailed inquiry of the incident of derailment of coaches of 12551 Bangalore-Kamakhya AC SF Express. Efforts are underway to restore normalcy to the affected routes as soon as possible. Safety protocols have been strictly followed during the rescue operations.
