Bhubaneswar, Nov 21: Civil supplies officer (CSO) Suresh Kumar Panigrahi was arrested after finding undisclosed assets in his possession, the Odisha Vigilance said on Thursday.
The arrest followed simultaneous raids at the office and properties of Suresh Kumar Panigrahi, CSO, Subarnapur in 11 places in Khurda (Bhubaneswar), Bolangir, Sonepur, and Bargarh districts by Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday.
Two buildings, a farmhouse spread over four acres of land, 19 plots, deposits over Rs 1.72 crore and Rs 1.49 lakh in cash were found, during the raid.
When asked about the source of accumulating the properties, he could not give any satisfactory explanation, the Vigilance said in a statement.
Raids were conducted at
1) Residential house of Sri Panigrahi at Tulasi Nagar, Bolangir town.
2) His office chamber at Subarnapur.
3) His paternal house at his native place at village. Balanda, Bijepur, Dist- Bargarh.
4) Rented flat No. 7BD, 2nd Tower at Mani Tribhuban, Patia, Bhubaneswar.
5) Rented house of Sri Panigrahi at Sonepur Town.
6) House of his relative at Tulasi Nagar, Bolangir.
7) Rented house of his relative at Flat No. 418, 5th Tower, Royal Lagoon, Patia, Bhubaneswar.
8) Rented house of his cousin at Gangadhar Sahi, Bargarh.
9) His Fly Ash Bricks factory and Farm land at village- Balanda, Bijepur, Bargarh.
10) Sidheswari Petrol Pump in the name of his cousin at Pahandi, Bijepur, Bargarh.
11) House of his another relative at village- Balanda, Bijepur, Dist- Bargarh.
