Fategarh, Oct 26: A 21-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped and her boyfriend assaulted by three in a forest in Odisha's Nayagarh district on Friday.
Although the incident occurred on October 20, it only became known when the victim filed a complaint at the police station on Friday.
Sources said, the woman and her boyfriend were returning home after visiting the Fatehgarh Ram Temple Oct 20. When three unidentified persons intercepted the two near Pithakhai forest and forcefully took them into the forest and gang raped the woman while threatening her boyfriend with a knife.
Subsequently, the accused recorded the entire incident on a mobile phone and shared the video on social media, where it has since gone viral.
After registering a case, the police have detained three individuals in connection with the incident and have begun their interrogation.
Further investigation is underway.
