Puri, Oct 5: The registration for this year's Habishyali ritual, also known as the Raidamodar ritual, will start from tomorrow in Puri and remain open till October 11, according to District Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain.
Collector Swain announced that the Habishyali ceremony is set to take place on October 18 and has instructed all departmental officials to ensure timely preparations.
Accommodations will be arranged at various locations, including Brundabati Niwas in Narendra Kona, Bagala, Bagadia Dharamshala, Akshay Patra, and Mochi Sahi Kalyan Mandap. Authorities expect to host around 2500 devotees this year.
Applicants must be in good physical and mental health, with special consideration given to widows and first-time participants. Those selected will be informed about their accommodation and arrival details.
It is important to note that individuals who do not register in advance will not be accommodated. Health checks will be conducted for beneficiaries at the camp, and anyone found to be unwell will be denied entry, as stated by the District Collector.
The Habishyali scheme was successfully implemented for two years under the previous government. This year, arrangements will be made for women's accommodation, worship, Kartik brata, bathing in ponds, darshan of the Lord, and Mahaprasad.
