Bhubaneswar, November 7: The Orissa High Court has issued a set of directives to the Cuttack district administration to ensure smooth organization of the upcoming Bali Yatra festival, scheduled to take place in the upper field of the Mahanadi River from November 15 to 22.
The High Court's instructions focus on crowd management, traffic control, and noise reduction measures for a safe and orderly festival experience.
Cuttack’s Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Jagmohan Meena, is tasked with implementing necessary steps to curb noise pollution during the event and prevent traffic congestion around the festival grounds.
Cuttack Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde has briefed the High Court on the administration's plans, including the construction of two new roads to connect the upper and lower fields of the event area.
To streamline foot traffic and improve access, temporary shops will be restricted along specific routes, from Mata Matha Chowk to Biju Patnaik Chowk and Cantonment Road to Chandi Chowk. A designated space will be arranged for these vendors.
Additionally, a green corridor will be set up to facilitate uninterrupted ambulance services, ensuring rapid medical response if needed during the event.
