Kashmir, April 25: With the shockwave spreading faster across the globe following the Pahalgam terror attack, the Federal Investigation Agency swung into action and identified 5 terrorists including 3 Pakistani nationals and two local operatives from the Pahalgam area.
Based on the inputs of one survivor woman Ekta Tiwari who hails from Rajasthan and his younger brother, the sleuths reached at a local operative. During hurricanning raids at the house of the terrorist who is said to be the mastermind to manage the attack here at the Pahalgam valley, the Indian Army, J&K Police and intelligence teams reportedly unearthed explosives and other incrimating materials. However, he had escaped much before anticipating raids.
According to sources, the investigating agencies on Thursday identified five terrorists who carried out the deadly attack near the peaceful Pahalgam valley on Tuesday.
Following sufficient inputs on the signature of the local operative, the enforcement authorities stepped up efforts to nab the other perpetrators of the worst terror strike that rocked the entire J&K region.
The investigating agencies identified three Pakistani nationals - Asif Fauji (code name Moosa), Suleman Shah (code name Yunus) and Abu Talha (code name Asif). Two local operatives were identified as - Adil Guri, a local from Bijbehara in Anantnag who went to Pakistan in 2018, and Ahsan, a resident of Pulwama who also went to Pakistan in 2018 .
The Kashmiri operatives recently infiltrated into India after getting years of training in Pakistan, but Fauji and Shah were operating in J&K for some time and were involved in previous attacks as well, including in Poonch.
A National Investigation Agency (NIA) team led by Inspector General Vijay Sakhare is stationed in Srinagar to conduct a thorough investigation into the heinous massacre.
The NIA Officials said the Federal Anti-Terror Agency (FATA) has already taken over the probe, with due assistance assistance from the J&K police.
