Islamabad, April 24:With a retaliatory measure, Pakistan on Thursday closed its airspace for Indian flights as India holds the Indus Water Treaty, following the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
The Pakistani announcements followed a meeting here of its National Security Committee chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in response to the India’s accusation that the Pahalgam attack is sponsored by pak-based terrorists.
A Notice to the Pak Airmen, or NOTAM, issued later in the day indicated that the airspace was being closed to the Indian aircrafts for a month. It was not immediately clear that the ban would be extended after this period.
On the other hand, Pakistan said it unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
