Gir Somnath (Gujarat), March 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Shri Somnath Jyotirlinga Mandir in Gujarat on Sunday to offer prayers. During his visit, he also paid tribute to the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel located within the temple grounds. The Prime Minister performed a special 'puja' as part of his visit.
PM Modi arrived in Gujarat on Saturday for a three-day tour, which began with his arrival at Jamnagar Airport. As part of his itinerary, the Prime Minister is set to visit Sasangir in the Junagadh district on Monday in observance of World Wildlife Day.
Earlier on Sunday, PM Modi took to X (formerly Twitter) to extend his wishes for the commencement of the holy month of Ramzan. In his message, he said, "As the blessed month of Ramzan begins, may it bring peace and harmony in our society. This sacred month epitomises reflection, gratitude and devotion, also reminding us of the values of compassion, kindness, and service. Ramzan Mubarak!"
On Saturday, PM Modi also met former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who is currently in India. During their meeting, the Prime Minister shared a light-hearted moment, recalling how Abbott had enjoyed millets during a visit to the Dilli Haat in the national capital. Sharing a photo with Abbott on X, PM Modi expressed his delight, stating, "Delighted to meet my good friend and former Australian PM Tony Abbott. He has always been a friend of India.
