Bhubaneswar: When the stage has been set with all the elements of euphoria for the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump in the noon on Monday, a ‘front’ is taking seize of Washington DC compelling the Inauguration ceremony of President-elect Trump moving to indoors at Capitol Rotunda.
The Washington DC will be experiencing the coldest president inaugural day after 40-long years. The USA had seen last in year 1985.
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST
As per the US National Weather Service, an arctic airmass will usher in gusty winds to Washington DC on Monday. It says, the wind combined with cold temperature will keep the wind chill in single digits (between 5-9) on Monday. (see the images below).

BIG IMPACT ON INAUGURAL CEREMONY
Following the weather advisory, President-elect Trump said he is moving his inauguration indoors Monday due to freezing weather expected in Washington, D.C.
The President elect wrote on Truth Social media, “The various Dignitaries and Guests will be brought into the Capitol. This will be a very beautiful experience for all, and especially for the large TV audience!"
He further wrote: "We will open Capital One Arena on Monday for LIVE viewing of this Historic event, and to host the Presidential Parade. I will join the crowd at Capital One, after my Swearing In."
IMPACT
As per ABC news report, due to this change, "vast majority of ticketed guests will not be able to attend the ceremonies in person," according to the Joint Inaugural Committee. "Those with tickets for the Presidential Platform and members of Congress will be able to attend in person."
"We strongly suggest people who are in Washington for the event attend other indoor events at indoor venues of their choice to watch the inauguration," the committee said.
The news report quoted US Capitol Police statement that said, “ticketed outside areas on the West Front of the Capitol will be closed on Monday. The Capitol Police and other law enforcement agencies working to secure the inauguration "will still have a heightened security posture with an increased law enforcement presence and layers of physical security."

WHY INDOOR CEREMONY?
In 1841 inauguration in March, when President William Henry Harrison was sworn in, the wind chill was 7 deg C. He delivered his speech in that intense cold, cloudy weather for 90 minutes. As per National Weather service reports then suggest that he went to Capitol by horse without a hat or overcoat.
RESULT: President Harrison developed pneumonia from cold and died a month later.
For which, President Harrison remained the short-serving US President till date, and also the first US president to die in office.
COLDEST INAUGURATION IN 40 YRS
- Till 20th amendment, US Prez inauguration used to take in early March till year 1933.
- The coldest president inauguration in US history has been that of year 1985, when Ronald Regan was sworn in as US President.
- The wind chill temperature was recorded at 7deg C on Jan 20, 1985.
- Worst in history was the inaugural ceremony of President William H Taft in 1909.
- Inauguration was forced to held indoor as s snow storm took seize of Washington DC, and the city was draped all over with 9.8 inch snow.
