Moscow, April 19: Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced an Easter ceasefire from 6:00 pm Friday to midnight Monday, citing humanitarian reasons.
The announcement, shared via the Russian Foreign Ministry on X and Telegram, followed a Kremlin meeting with General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov.
Putin ordered all military operations halted during this period, urging Ukraine to do the same, while warning forces to stay alert for possible violations.
The ceasefire comes as the US, under President Trump's administration, signals a potential end to Ukraine truce talks, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio stressing urgency after high-level discussions in Paris. ( With Agency Input)
