Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s para fencers have once again brought glory to the nation at the Para Fencing Satellite Tournament 2025, held in Hong Kong, China from April 11 to 13, 2025.
Rakhal Kumar Sethi delivered a stellar performance, winning three medals for India. On Saturday, he secured a silver medal in the Sabre event and a bronze medal in the Epee event, in addition to his earlier bronze in the Foil event, achieving a remarkable hat-trick of international medals in a single tournament.
Ramesh Rao, also from Odisha, clinched the bronze medal in the individual Foil event, adding another proud moment for the state and country.
In the women’s category, Malti Panure made her mark by winning the bronze medal in the Women’s Epee event, proving the strength and talent of Odisha’s female para fencers on the international stage.
The President of the Para Sports Association of Odisha, Kamalakanta Ratha, Secretary Sunil Pradhan, and Chairperson of Para Fencing Odisha, Bela Jaiswal, extended their heartfelt congratulations to the medal winners for their incredible achievements and contributions to para sports in India.
