Puri, Nov 28: The Odisha government has set a deadline of January 31, 2025, to complete essential repair work and inventory checks at the Ratna Bhandar (treasure vault) of the Puri Jagannath Temple. The vault, home to priceless jewellery, artifacts, and treasures linked to Lord Jagannath, has been undergoing extensive maintenance to ensure the preservation and protection of these invaluable items.
Temple officials explain that the repair work is necessary to prevent any further damage to the structure, while the inventory process is key to maintaining a detailed record of the treasures stored inside. This initiative is part of a larger effort to enhance the temple’s infrastructure while preserving its religious and cultural integrity.
Once the work is completed by January 2025, it will significantly improve the safeguarding of the sacred items and contribute to the temple’s broader heritage management strategy.
