Sambalpur, March 28: The District Sub-Registrar (DSR) Sambalpur was arrested for alleged irregularity in land registration.
DSR, identified as Surya Narayan Samal, was sent for judicial remand, following a probe ordered by Odisha Revenue & Disaster Minister Suresh Pujari.
According to reports, DSR Samal with one of his aides named Chandra Prasad Dunguria had allegedly allowed a land-record to be registered, on the basis of forged documents.
On the complaints of the claimant who purchased the piece of land registered by the DSR, police initiated an investigation that revealed the connivance of the DSR in the fraudulent transaction.
Chadra Prasad Dunguria was also apprehended by the Sambalpur Town Police in this connection.
