Bhubaneswar, January 30: The uncertainty over the dates for Saraswati Puja, also known as Basant Panchami, has been resolved. The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in Puri has officially announced that Saraswati Puja will be observed on February 2.
There had been confusion among devotees about whether the celebration would take place on February 2 or February 3, as various calendars listed different dates for the occasion. However, the Srimandir administration has confirmed that Saraswati Puja will be held on Sunday, February 2, coinciding with Sri Panchami Tithi.
In an official notification, the Srimandir Administrator (ritual) clarified that, following tradition, the Rath Katha Anukula ritual will also take place on the same day. The announcement comes after a consultation with astrologers who prepared the almanac.
Jitendra Sahoo, Administrator (ritual) of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, shared that the decision was made in collaboration with the astrologers.
