Bhubaneswar, Feb 3: SUM Ultimate Medicare (SUMUM), the one-stop, next-generation multi-super specialty quaternary care hospital here, has been honoured as the best corporate hospital in eastern India at the first edition of the ET Now Industry Icons-2025 East Chapter awards held at Kolkata on Friday.
The award was received by Dr. Swetapadma Dash, Chief Executive Officer of SUMUM, promoted by Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA), from Rohit Chadha, President and COO of Times Network Digital at a special function.
Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital-2 at Phulnakhara was also awarded as the best multi-specialty hospital of Odisha while IMS and SUM Hospital-3 at Sitalapalli in Berhampur was chosen as the best multi-specialty emerging hospital of the state. Both the hospitals are run by SOA.
Besides, IMS and SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar’s departments of Cardiology, Oncology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Hematology and Nephrology were chosen as the best departments in those category in Odisha.
Prof. (Dr.) Pusparaj Samantasinhar, Medical Superintendent of IMS and SUM Hospital at Bhubaneswar, Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar Lenka, Medical Superintendent of IMS and SUM Hospital-2 and SOA Deemed to be University’s Public Relations Officer Ms. Subhadarshini Mishra received the awards.
Popular Odia newspaper ‘The Prameya’, published by Summa Real Media Limited, was also honoured as Odisha’s number one vernacular daily at the event. The award was received by the company’s Group Director (Sales and Marketing) Himanshu Bhushan Hota.
Eminent Sarod player Aman Ali Bangash, Bollywood actor Tara Shah Badusha, eminent film producer, director and writer Nandita Roy, actor, director and writer Shiboprosad Mukherjee, actor and producer Rutuparna Sengupta Chakrabarty and Bollywood actor Aparshakti Khurana were present to give away the awards. Biman Dutta, Assistant Vice-President and Regional Head (East), Times Network, welcomed the dignitaries and managed the show.
