Jajpur, February 16: In a tragic road mishap, Jajpur DSP and one other were killed on Sunday after a truck hit a car.
The fatal accident took place at Chandpur square under the Panikoili police limit in Odisha in the afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Balaram Nayak (DSP) and Krushna Chandra Nayak, a relative of Balaram.
Sources said, Balram and Krushna were returning from their hometown Ghatgaon in Kenonjhar to Jajpur in a car. Meanwhile, a speeding truck dashed the vehicle violently near Chandpur square. As a result, both of the persons onboard died on the spot.
Police rushed to the spot, seized the body and sent them for postmortem.
Both the dilapidated vehicles have been seized. The trucker is on the run, said police.
