On Saturday, New Delhi, January 11: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the Ram Temple in Ayodhya to seek the blessings of Lord Ram Lalla.
His visit comes on the first anniversary of the temple's Pran Pratistha (consecration ceremony).
CM Yogi expressed his happiness at being in Ayodhya on this significant occasion. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he shared: “Blessed to be in Avadh, famous for Lord Ram, on the first anniversary of the Pran-Pratishtha of Lord Shri Ram Lalla in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Hail Lord Ram!”
The anniversary celebrations began on January 11 and will continue until January 13. They will feature a range of rituals, prayers, and cultural events, with the participation of hundreds of devotees and saints paying their respects to Lord Ram.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the nation, acknowledging the historical importance of the Ram Mandir. He called it a "great heritage of India's culture and spirituality," noting that the temple was built through centuries of devotion and struggle.
The Ram Temple was formally inaugurated on January 22, 2024, in a grand ceremony attended by dignitaries, saints, and thousands of devotees. While the anniversary could have been celebrated on January 22, it was instead scheduled for January 11 due to adjustments made under the Hindu lunar calendar.
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust clarified that the Pran Pratishtha ceremony was performed on Paush Shukla Paksha Dwadashi (Kurma Dwadashi), which in 2025 falls on January 11. As a result, the anniversary was moved to this date.
