Utkarsh Odisha 2025: PM Modi leaves for Janata Maidan, Industry leaders highlight state's growing potential

Bhubaneswar, Jan 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Bhubaneswar Airport and proceeded to Janata Maidan to inaugurate the much-anticipated Utkarsh Odisha: Make-in-Odisha Conclave 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of SOA University, who extended a warm welcome to the Prime Minister and expressed their excitement about the positive impact the program will have on the state's future.

Students shared their optimism, stating that the initiatives under Utkarsh Odisha would attract more industries and generate significant employment opportunities, contributing to Odisha's economic growth.


Highlighting the state's growing prominence, Anil Agarwal, Chairman of Vedanta Group, praised Odisha, calling it "the most preferred place in India" and "heaven on Earth." He also emphasized the global significance of Odisha’s industrial ventures, notably the Jharsuguda Aluminum complex, the largest of its kind in the world.

JSPL (Jindal Steel and Power Limited) announced a massive Rs. 70,000 crore investment in Odisha to expand its steel plant. This expansion will increase the plant's capacity to 25 million tons. Additionally, JSPL plans to establish a new steel plant in Keonjhar, further enhancing its presence in the state. Naveen Jindal, Chairman of the Jindal Group, highlighted that this investment would boost the local economy and create thousands of new jobs.
