Bhubaneswar, Apr 16: Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj on Tuesday informed that the 1,353 teaching posts lying vacant across various state-run universities will soon be filled under the new Odisha University Amendment Act.
As per reports, the Minister chaired a high-level meeting with the Vice Chancellors of all universities in which he directed them to submit detailed proposals for recruitment as soon as possible.
"Currently, 1,353 teaching posts are vacant in universities across Odisha. Additionally, there are 2,000 non-teaching vacancies. Vice Chancellors have been directed to submit their staffing requirements at the earliest," the Minister said.
He also announced that the recruitment for teaching positions will now proceed under the provisions of the amended Act, enabling a more efficient and expedited hiring process.
However, for non-teaching roles, the recruitment will continue as per the existing regulations, since no amendments have been made in that area yet.
He further emphasized that the government is actively collaborating with various public sector enterprises to enhance employment opportunities for university students. This initiative aims to strengthen campus placements and secure promising career paths for graduates.
