Bhubaneswar: With four days left for Vicky Kaushal – Rashmika Mandanna starred Chhaava to hit the silver screens, the Maddock film is seen ruling the most anticipated movie list of IMDb.
The film is ruling at the top with a popular voting of 29%. The film is releasing across India on valentine Day (Feb 14, 2025). The film has also grabbed 2.75 lakh interests on BookMy Show till Monday.
Though the film is a historical action drama, portraying the life of valiant Maratha king and son of Chhatrapati Shivaji the Great, Chattrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the advance booking right here on the eastern border – Odisha, Bhubaneswar has been encouraging.
As per reports, a total 81K tickets have already been sold out in the State Capital. On the release day, the City’s cinema houses will be holding as many as 30 shows.
As per Cinema house officials here, the craze is mainly to watch Vicky Kaushal in action. On Sunday, the shows are anticipated to rise to 35.
CENSOR CUTS CHAAVA SCENES
Meanwhile, the Censor board (Central Film certification of India) has effected a large number of cuts in the Vicky Kaushal starred movie. The details are given below.
- Asked to replace the dialogue “Mughal Sultanat Ka Zeher” with “Uss Samay kayi shashak aur Sultanat khud ko zinda rakhne ki kossis kar rahe the.”
- Another dialogue “Khoon to akhir Mughalon ka hai” changed to “Khoon to Aurang ka hai”
- Muted the words “haramzada” and “haramzaadon’
- ‘Ameen’ was replaced with ‘Jai Bhavani’.
- ’16 saal’ was replaced by ’14 saal’
- ‘22saal ka ladka’ changed with ’24 saal ka ladka’
- “9 saal’ was modified to ‘kayi saal’
- CBFC asked the maker s to delete the scene where Maratha warriors were seen clad in sarees.
- The censor body has also asked the film makers to put a disclaimer in the film.
- CBFC said the disclaimer should mention the name of the book stating this film is based on the ...... book and it doesn’t intend to defame anybody or distort historical facts.
Besides hitting the CBFC wall, a song and dance sequence featuring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna has received widespread protests from Maharashtra. From Maharashtra Minister Uday Samant to Raj Thackrey's MNS have all demaded deleting of the song.
They said, "Historical films need to be shown in historical context, it is weird to add dance and song in them. Because it puts the warrior in bad light."
