Vishwakarma Puja 2024: Date, auspicious time, & significance

Vishwakarma Puja is dedicated to Lord Vishwakarma, the divine architect and craftsman of the gods. On this day, Lord Vishwakarma is worshipped in factories, workshops, and businesses. Tools, machinery, pens, ledgers, vehicles, and other items essential to daily work are honoured in reverence to his craftsmanship.

According to Dr. Ganesh Mishra, an astrologer at Central Sanskrit University, Puri, two auspicious yogas—Sukarma Yoga and Ravi Yoga—will align on Vishwakarma Puja this year. The puja is observed on the day of Kanya Sankranti, marking the start of the Virgo month in the solar calendar.

Vishwakarma Puja 2024 Date

This year, Vishwakarma Puja falls on Monday, 16th September, coinciding with Kanya Sankranti. On this day, the Sun will transition into Virgo, beginning the sixth month of the solar calendar.

Vishwakarma Puja 2024 in 2 Auspicious Yogas

In 2024, Vishwakarma Puja will be held under two highly auspicious yogas—Sukarma Yoga and Ravi Yoga. Sukarma Yoga will last from the morning until 11:42 am, after which Dhriti Yoga will take over. Ravi Yoga will start at 4:33 pm and continue until 6:07 am the next day, 17th September.

Vishwakarma Puja 2024 Muhurat

The most favourable time to perform Vishwakarma Puja in 2024 is during Sukarma Yoga on 16th September. The best time slots for the puja are from 6:23 am to 9:14 am, with the Abhijeet Muhurta from 11:51 am to 12:40 pm.

Additional auspicious timings on Vishwakarma Puja include the Labh-Unnati Muhurta from 6:23 AM to 7:49 AM and the Amrit-Sarvottam Muhurta from 7:49 am to 9:14 am.

The Dhanishta Nakshatra will remain active until 4:33 pm, after which it transitions to Shatabhisha Nakshatra.
