Bangaluru, April 27: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday stressed that war should always be a nation's last resort, not the first response.

Reacting to the Pakistan-backed terror attack in Pahalgam, he pointed to serious lapses in India's intelligence and security systems and urged the Centre to urgently address them.

In a post on X, Siddaramaiah welcomed diplomatic steps like revisiting the Indus Waters Treaty and called for stronger, united action against terrorism. He warned against internal divisions, stating that national unity is crucial at this sensitive time.

Highlighting Pakistan's global isolation, Siddaramaiah urged India to use international support to deliver a strong message to Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss the military's response to the brutal Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives, including tourists and a Nepalese national.
